Testimony by a doctor patient:
I, H.G., a doctor, upon realizing I had Peyronie Disease, tried to find out more information about it, as well as about the existence of a specialist in this type of problem. It is a problematic disease that causes penis deformities and great psychological trauma.
As doctors, we know the chances for a successful diagnosis and treatment are related to the doctor’s experience, skill and ability in the problem, especially when dealing with the penis, which is unique and very important for us men.
While searching for this information I discovered Dr. Paulo Egydio. I read an interview with him where he explained penile curvature and the procedure he developed to correct it by lengthening the short side of the penis.
After evaluating his differentiated resume and realizing he was a great specialist in penile curvature, with broad experience in this type of problem, I decided to look him up.
After an evaluation, I felt completely sure I was in excellent hands. I had the surgical procedure and my life improved very much since the results were excellent.
Paulo, best regards from a medical colleague.

SJR, 30 years of age, doctor
I am a doctor, 30 years old and married. Since adolescence I have observed a lateral penile curvature. I never thought much about it since among friends at school I always heard it (the penis) was turned one way or another, and I thought it was normal to have penile curvature. When I began having sexual relations, I felt a certain difficulty and some partners complained of pain, but I always felt everything was fine with me.
I went to medical school and when I started my urology internship we studied Peyronie Disease, which is penile curvature acquired from traumas in sexual relationships – and we saw slides with very accentuated and frightening penile curvature - but not one word was ever mentioned about the little accentuated, congenital curvatures. I continued believing my curvature was normal…
I got married and after a few years, while talking with my wife, I realized there was something wrong with our relations. My penis easily slipped out of her vagina and she felt pain.
And so by talking with her we reached the conclusion the problem could be the curvature of my penis. So I began to study about it and look for help.
In my studies, I found out there was a disease called penile curvature in youths, which was congenital, could be accentuated or not and could disturb our sexual relations – which was my case.
Then I just needed to find the right doctor who could handle my case, since like I said before, this is a disease that was never mentioned during my medical course and it little known among other medical colleagues, even urologists. They all think that if the curvature is small, or if you have already been born with it, then it is normal. But it wasn’t…, my curvature was small, congenital and it bothered my sexual relations – something was wrong.
After talking with other colleagues, urologists, at the university’s school of medicine where I worked, I found out about a urologist who had specialized in treated curved penises using a new procedure at the time, and he had done his PhD on the subject. He had to be the right person. He would know how to hear out my problem; this was my chance.
I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Paulo Egydio and on my very first visit he explained that curvature in youths is a disease that afflicts many people, is little known, little disseminated, and therefore, little treated, but that could seriously impair sexual relations both physically and psychologically. But the best thing is there was a surgery that could correct it. I left his office very relieved and happy I had found someone who could treat me.
I talked with my wife and she encouraged me to have the surgery, so I did. All I can say today is that my sexual relations are much better, my wife feels no pain. In short, we now have normal sexual relations.
I am very thankful to Dr. Paulo Egydio.

Testimony from a doctor who experienced the problem and what were the requirements from a doctor’s perspective in the search for a solution to the problem (My case was penile curvature caused by Peyronie Disease, but these requirements also apply to curvature in youths:
I, J.J.C. (I only used my initials for privacy reasons), a doctor, briefly and simply explain the problem I had, and as a doctor, the decisions and attitudes I took for its solution.
My penis began to deform and curve from one moment to the next and it deformed even more until causing an important deformity. While researching this, I found out I had Peyronie Disease.
Like any other man, I also asked myself: “My God, why did this happen to me!?!” It is not easy to live with a problem like that, because besides the physical problem (penile deformity) there is also great psychological repercussion (just imagine what penile deformity means to us men), and only those feel it in their own skin can describe what it means. As a man, seeing your deformed penis, making it difficult or even impossible to have sexual relations, it is necessary to keep calm, be strong and look for medical help (because there is a solution).
But since it happened to me and just lamenting would get me nowhere, I had to make a decision and seek medical help with a specialist in the area in order to find out the dimension of my problem and how it would be treated.
Choosing a doctor is fundamental, especially when dealing with our own penis, which as men we value so highly, besides the fact we only have one, that is, it is unique. So, as the saying goes, "you cannot be too careful".
I now describe the line of thought regarding how I chose the doctor to take care of my problem, taking into account the critical sense we all have when analyzing a situation, as well as my knowledge as a doctor and my critical sense as a doctor.
For those who do not know, the most indicated specialty to deal with penile problems is urology, and the doctor specialized in urology is a urologist, who specialized and was trained in evaluating, diagnosing, following up and treating, clinically and surgically, problems/diseases that affect kidneys, prostate, bladder, urethra, ureter, testicles, seminal vesicles, penis, among others. From a rational perspective, this would be the first step, looking up a urologist.
The thing is, over time, medicine has become very specialized. As with other specialties, urology is a very broad area and urologists end up taking care of the most varied problems (in the kidneys, prostate, bladder, urethra, ureter, testicles, seminal vesicles, penis, among others).
Since the penile curvature problem is not especially common, and therefore, not very common for many urologists in their daily office experience, and most especially since it concerned “my penis” (which means a lot to me), it would be necessary to take some additional care, and so the next step I took was to look for a urologist specialized and/or experienced in this type of problem (penile curvature). In other words, I wanted a doctor who had broad experience; someone who evaluated and treated many cases frequently, daily. Because, we as doctors know that the greater the specialization and experience in a specific problem, the greater the chances of success in the evaluation, diagnosis and definition of the best path to be taken (best treatment) as well as in obtaining the best treatment.
Following this line of thought, taking into account all these medical, technical, rational, critical and logical subsidies, I got to the name of Dr. Paulo Egydio.
I researched Dr. Paulo’s resume and I realized it was much differentiated, with specializations in this area from abroad, at renowned international urologic centers. And he was also internationally recognized as a great specialist in penile curvature with broad-based and vast experience in this type of problem. In the studies I conducted, I found medical and scientific publications and interviews with him, where I read everything about his differentiated surgical technique, lengthening the short side of the penis to recover the largest possible penis size (because for those who do not know, penile deformity/curvature causes a loss in penis size and traditional surgeries reduce the long side of the penis, leaving it the size of the short side, correcting curvature and causing considerable loss in size, whereas the procedure by Dr. Paulo Egydio lengthens the short side of the penis, leaving it the size of the long side, recovering penis size lost to the deformity). Well, with all the research I conducted I don’t need to say I learned a lot about penile curvature, do I?!? And so I felt the security I had been looking for, and by the way, well looked for… after all it was “my penis” that was at stake.
After all these evaluations, I was sure Dr. Paulo Egydio was the right doctor. I scheduled an appointment and went to his office. I left the appointment and evaluation impressed by the service as well as the knowledge and experience he has about this problem, removing any doubt and fear.
During the evaluation, my problem was diagnosed as surgical. I felt completely secure I was entrusting “my penis” (I so esteem) to the right person, or better, the right doctor. That is when we scheduled the surgery, and after it was performed I can only thank Dr. Paulo Egydio. It was a success. Recovery was very fast and I went back to living a normal life, with quality.
I want to thank my wife for her understanding and support regarding this problem and we thank (my wife and I) Dr. Paulo Egydio for everything, especially the excellent result.
Dr. Paulo, best regards from a medical colleague.

TESTIMONY
NAME: SEVERINO JÚLIO DOS GUIMARÃES PEIXOTO
MARITAL STATUS: MARRIED
PROFESSION: DOCTOR
ADDRESS: Rua Luiz Guimarães, no. 411, apt. F 102, Poço da Panela, City of Recife, PE, ZIP Code 52061-160, Phone: 081-9952-7256
First I thank God and then I thank Dr. PAULO EGYDIO, a competent, detailed and ethical professional, for the result achieved in the surgical intervention, since I had erectile dysfunction.
I am a doctor in the state of Pernambuco, and I work in the city of Recife. I am registered at the CRM under no. 4564. I graduated from the Pernambuco College of Medical Sciences in 1977 as a specialist in clinical medicine. I have been married for 30 (thirty) years with Fátima Guedes dos Guimarães Peixoto, my loved one and true companion.
About 3 (three) years ago, more precisely in 2005, I was afflicted by a penile disease with erectile dysfunction, a disease that made it impossible for me to have sexual relations since my penis had a dorsal curvature of 90o.
Although I was a healthcare professional, I did not know about the existence of this illness, and once afflicted I looked up several specialist colleagues in my city to listen to their opinions.
In turn, after being examined, everyone unanimously said it was Peyronie Disease, and surgery would be necessary. And since the disease was already in very advanced stages, they said I should look up Dr. Paulo Egydio in the state of São Paulo to have the corrective surgery, since he had idealized the procedure. It would be necessary to have a penile prosthesis implant with a penile prosthesis implant with correction, with a bovine pericardium graft. This surgery was not performed in the state of Pernambuco.
So, I drove to São Paulo and met with Dr. Paulo Egydio. After the visit, it was determined I needed surgery, and it is necessary to underscore I was very down, with low self-esteem.
After the surgery, as I was leaving the Surgery Ward and heading to the clinic’s room, I was already feeling much better after realizing my penis was back to normal.
Today, I am happy and deeply satisfied. I have sexual relations as if nothing had ever happened thanks to the Procedure used in the surgery, idealized by Dr. Paulo Egydio.
Finally, with the objective of encouraging and increasing the self-esteem of all those facing an identical situation, I hereby authorize Dr. Paulo Egydio's Clinic to publish this testimony using any from of communication, including large circulation media.
